Here is Kevin on the far side of the track as he is coming in the finish. I only included this picture so you can see how far he was from anyone at this point, and can compare it to 200 meters later.

You can see that Kevin has caught up to the big guy in front of him and is thinking about trying to pass him.

Here is Kevin again as he is about to cross the finish. He looks just a tad tuckered out. That's OK. You're supposed to be tired after a 5k PR, 26:14

Yeah, the boy again. He has finished the race, drank some water, cooled down some, and now the sun decided to come out and shine in his eyes. "Dad, can we go in and get some cocoa now?"
One of these days I got ta learn to pin race numbers on straight.
You will note the scowl. This is just one of the faces he puts on whenever Dad brings out the camera.

Here is Jen Surowiecki about to cross the finish line. I don't know, she looks WAY to happy here. I always look like I'm about to lose my breakfast when I finish. What is your secret Jen?

Nancy Hautala's turn to finish. She was disapointed that she finished three minutes slower than the race she ran the previous night! Ever hear of a "taper"?

BTW, don't let that sunshine fool you. It is still pretty darn cold and there is a wind blowing. The sun just came out for the pictures so no-one would believe how cold and wet it was at the start.

Fuzzy picture of Kevin receiving his third place ribbon. The Deads did pretty will in the ribbon department. Kevin and Mika got 3rd place in their AG's and Dick was 2nd.

Here is NowDead Dick Decker enjoying his chile in the HS cafeteria after the race.

Yet another poor soul complaining about his poor race time. He ran the 5 mile race two minutes faster than my 5 mile PR. I want to be like him when I grow up. Dick's race was good enough for a 2nd place in his AG.

Mika LaVaque-Manty and Jen Surowiecki after the race.

Mika is telling us about his warm-up of running the entire 5k course before the race and then running another mile as a cool-down. Jen is thinking "What planet is this guy from anyway?!"

It must work, Mika was 9th overall in a very tough field and took third in his AG.

Nancy Hautala and Jen S's non-Dead friend Jen. Jen's friend Jen ran the 5k along with Jen S. and Nancy but her finish picture didn't turn out. Sorry.

What the Jens really wanted to know was where the nearest Starbucks was.
